 HISTORY

  • 1958-1978 – Spring Lake Library building was located upstairs of the old town hall on Spring Avenue, housing, in addition, all Municipal Administrative Offices for  the town of Spring Lake, Fire and Police Department.
  • Summer, 1979 – The building was renovated through Federal Revenue Sharing Funds.  The branch was relocated to the first floor of the facility when the Town Hall moved.
  • May 29, 1999 - A closing reception was held at that location, making way for the library team to serve the public in a new building.
  • June 19, 1999 – This expanded Spring Lake Branch Library, located at 101 Laketree Boulevard, held its dedication and opening celebrations.

Current users are a mixture of military and civilians, including students of the neighboring Fayetteville Technical Community College Spring Lake Campus.  This community branch is one of nine Cumberland County Public Library and Information Centers in the area.
